Established in 1987, Calvello Books offers a very broad selection of languages and subjects.
Michael Calvello worked in several secondhand bookshops in San Francisco, including Bolerium Books, Libros Latinos, Maelstrom Books, and Diluvian Books. With Alan Green, he founded Bibliopolis and helped design and implement the popular BookHound cataloging software. He holds an MLS in the History of the Book and Bibliography, from the University of Texas at Austin. Michael owned Owl & Company Bookshop in Oakland for several years. He is an avid reader, father, writer, sailor, and music-maker.
