Established in 1987, Calvello Books offers a broad selection of titles in many languages and subjects. Some 13,000 books are listed here, with about one hundred new listings each week.
Michael Calvello began working in secondhand bookstores in San Francisco in 1986. He learned the booktrade at Bolerium Books, Libros Latinos, Maelstrom Books, Diluvian Books, and several other shops. Along with Alan Green, he founded Bibliopolis and developed the popular BookHound cataloging software. He holds an MLS, with a focus on the History of the Book and Bibliography, from the University of Texas at Austin. He is an avid reader, writer, and music-maker.
